In honor of the baby shower tomorrow...

I will unveil my baby corner. I really like it. and all though it's not done 100 percent yet it makes me feel good. I really, really hope that it will make my little girl feel good too, and that she will feel welcome cuz she really, really is. And maybe I just teared up a little there. it's fine guys.

SO, every baby space needs a theme. and as in my inspiration: I choose aviary. Birdies are pretty and happy just like Lydia will be. :) I decided that I didn't like how cartoon those $60.00 dollar baby mobiles are. And I wanted my mobile to match. And Also not sing, as its in my bedroom.
I wanted something that looked realistic, you know so she could learn realistically.
I found a website that did some like that... for like just $162.00 - me and my expensive taste.
But then i thought... I can do that. So i did. And it was like 40 bucks tops between hobby lobby (it was my first time there) and tai pan (we are good friends).
I attached it to a net and hung it high enough for baby (and kitty) not to reach. ( he watches it all the time, the kitty ;) )

Its a little family of birds in there.
Baby view.

I had some extra materials so, an arrangement was in order.
and every baby girl needs hat boxes to store onsies in, duh.

and that mirror there was once the color maple. BUT martha stewart, home depot, and I like it better sparkly gray. Even Kasey likes it, I think, though he called it girly. (So sorry you were outvoted dear)

OH, and i made a little custom piece of art for this tiny love of mine. it looks like this:

i like lace flowers.

So in all - so far.
Here it is kids.

I'm happy.

First things first.

I had to pick a fabric. Let us remember that there is already a theme for this room...our bedroom is red and gray and black and probably some white. SO, i took the green out of my inspiration. So i stuck with just yellow and gray and some black and white. Luckily some dear on Estsy had a little fabric i happened to fall in love with. So i bought a yard of it for 12 dollars. I used it everywhere, i'm so proud of my thrift. Mainly i made a, for lack of knowing what its actually called, photo board.

What do we think world?

and then i just added some cute maternity pics, cuz thats all i gots right now.

It makes me happy. :)

Look what i can do.

so when you don't have a lot of money for a gift just go to our friend Mr. Internet. like this, i will show you. First step take a picture of something beautiful. then edit it. so it looks like this:
or this:
Or add a little script.
or keep it a little more plain. like husband likes.
Then just Google some web site that has "poster prints". its like 17 bucks or less for a 20x16. As far as the frame you can just go checkout the clearance at k mart. and wah la, instant Christmas present for daddy Gave. (husbands daddy) If all else fails i can do it for you. :)

How To: Dark Eye Shadow.

really. lets be honest, all art is basically the same. painting a wall? panting your face? SAME. so you wanna do dark eye shadow do you. well let me tell you how. its just 5 steps...

1. 1st base. this coat is all about crease prevention. Remember how at the end of the day your eye shadow puddles in the eye crease.  What? don't deny it. Best thing I have found for me? This.
I love this. really it makes my make-up magical. it never leaves and it crates an even canvas. So the shadow spreads like butter. yum. If you cant go get it today, use liquid foundation over your lids.

2. Highlight. Some people think if you have light skin you need a whiter highlight and if you have tan skin you need a nuder highlight. Good rule, sure, but I think you need both no matter what color your skin is. Basically all you need today is a nuder highlighter for dark eye shadow, you still want contrast but not so stark you look like a drag queen. no. no. no.
ex. nuder (MAC "Naked lunch") whiter ( MAC " Shroom")

3. 2nd base. Me? I like to use a color under my dark shadow. why? It helps it be even steven, and not the Shia Labeouf kind. Another thing, shimmer spreads better. If your dark color is matte that's great, it will go well over a shimmer. If its a shimmer, your still good. you have two choices...
1. Light skin use your accent color and lay it all over the lid.
2. Darker skin use a golden brown over the half of the eye lid where the dark color will go. A color like this.

its name is tempting.

4. Dark eye shadow. Use the same brush you just applied base 2 with. And put it on as dark as you like, starting in the crease and working your way down.

5. Accent color. To calm it down a little bit make this shadow a lighter version of your dark color. If you wanna be cool use a bright color. Like if your dark is brown....do green or yellow. If it's black....use purple. Play with it.
